Sembrar la vida

Cultivate life and celebrate agriculture through music

FAO has recently launched a groovy music compilation to promote small-scale family farmers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The CD, called Sembrar la Vida – Cultivate Life, contains 12 songs from Latin American and the Caribbean countries played by Nicaraguan singer Luis Enrique Mejia Godoy [ES].

To learn more about the message of the CD, listen to this radiointerview with Carmelo Gallardo from FAO. He says that it took almost one year to prepare the CD whose name means “cultivate for people in agriculture”.

When you listen to these beautiful songs, think about the lives of two million farming families in Latin America whose living and working conditions have yet to improve. Inspired by the music? Do something about the problems – forward this page to your friends, listen to the music with your family, think of ways to better the lives of small farmers around the world.
